Bhubaneswar, June 16: Former Chief Minister and BJD president Naveen Patnaik will be the Leader of Opposition in the Odisha Assembly.
The BJD Legislature Party Meeting which was held on Wednesday at the Sankha Bhawan elected the five-time Chief Minister as the leader of BJD Legislature Party leader. The meeting was chaired by Patnaik.
Senior MLA Prasanna Acharya will be the Deputy Leader of the BJD in the legislature, while Pramila Mallik will be the Chief Whip and Pratap Keshari Deb as the Deputy Chief Whip of the BJD.
“We had a meeting of the MLAs of the BJD. I congratulated and thanked them. They have elected me as the Leader of the Opposition and leader of the BJD legislature party. I have also announced the new post of Prasanna Acharya as the Deputy Leader of the BJD in the legislature, Pramila Mallik as the Chief Whip and Pratap Keshari Deb as the Deputy Chief Whip of the BJD,” said BJD chief Patnaik after the meeting.
