Cyclone Dana: Nine Ministers assigned 9 districts to oversee relief & rescue activities in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, October 22: With Cyclone Dana advancing toward Odisha’s coastline, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Tuesday directed the nine Ministers to supervise cyclone management in nine districts which might be affected by the cyclonic storm.

According to a CMO communique, Deputy Chief Ministers KV Singh Deo and Pravati Parida have been asked to oversee the relief and rescue activities in Kendrapara and Puri districts, respectively.

Similarly, Industry Minister Sampad Chandra Swain has been assigned the responsibility of Jagatsinghpur district while Panchayati Raj & Drinking Water and Rural Development Minister Rabi Naik will be supervising the cyclone management in Balasore district.

While Sports and Higher Education Minister Suraj Suryabanshi will oversee the relief and rescue activities in Bhadrak district, Housing and Urban Development Minister Krushna Chandra Mohapatra will oversee the cyclone management in Mayurbhanj district.

Similarly, the rescue and relief operations in Ganjam, Keonjhar and Cuttack will be supervised by Commerce and Transport Minister Bibhuti Bhusan Jena, Food & Civil Supplies Minister Krushna Chandra Patra and Works and Law Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan.
