East Coast Railway felicitates alert loco pilots who averted possible accidents

Bhubaneswar, November 12: Goods Train Loco Pilot Sandip Patil and co-Loco-Pilot Toran Lal Sahu of Raipur Railway Division felicitated by East Coast Railway’s Sambalpur Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) for their alertness while performing their duties.

DRM Tushar Kant Pandey felicitated both the loco pilots with Cash Award and Merit Certificates in presence of Additional DRM and other Branch officers of Sambalpur Division.

While performing their duties, Goods train crew Patil and Sahu found Stones lying on Down Line Track between Nawapara Road and Khariar Road Railway Stations of Titlagarh – Raipur Section at about 8.40 PM November 10. Both the loco-pilots stopped the train and informed Station Staff. Immediately the Stones were removed from the track by Railway staff and then the Goods train passed safely.

FIR has been lodged under GRP Titlagarh Police Station. The matter is now under Investigation.

The position of Vande Bharat Express was at Lakhna Station at about 8.35 PM which is about 14 Kms from Nawapara Road.

The alertness of loco pilots while performing their duties is praise worthy as their quick actions played a critical role in preventing major mishaps, safeguarding both human lives and the integrity of train operations.
