Utkarsh Odisha-Make in Odisha Conclave 2025 breaks records, secures Rs 16.73 lakh crore investment proposals

Bhubaneswar, January 29: The Utkarsh Odisha-Make in Odisha Conclave 2025 shattered all previous records, securing a remarkable Rs 16.73 lakh crore in investment proposals, well beyond its original target of Rs 5 lakh crore. The event saw an overwhelming response, with 595 investment intents spanning across 20 industries, marking a defining moment for the state’s economic growth.

Speaking about the conclave’s success, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi expressed his satisfaction with the outcome, noting that the event surpassed all expectations.

“The conclave resulted in an overwhelming response, with 145 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) signed, attracting Rs 12.89 Lakh Crore in investment across sectors like chemicals & petrochemicals, textiles, mining, renewable energy, IT, tourism, and food processing. These investments are expected to generate over 8.94 Lakh job opportunities, significantly boosting employment and economic growth in the state,” said Majhi.

Majui said, “Additionally, 448 investment intention forms were received, amounting to Rs 3.84 Lakh Crore in proposed investments with an employment potential of 3.92 Lakh jobs. With a total of 593 projects, Odisha secured investments worth Rs 16.73 Lakh Crore, creating an employment potential of 12.88 Lakh jobs across more than 20 sectors.”

The conclave witnessed participation from over 16 countries, including representatives from the Partner Countries – Singapore, Malaysia, and Australia – further strengthening Odisha’s position as a preferred global investment destination.

The successful execution of the conclave was made possible through the meticulous efforts of the Industries Department, IPICOL, IDCO, CII (National Industries Partner), PwC (Knowledge Partner), and other involved departments, added the CM.

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s strong support has brought Odisha closer to its vision of Samrudh Odisha 2036 and its role as a growth engine for Viksit Bharat 2047. Under the double-engine government, his leadership has ensured that Odisha moves towards becoming one of the top five economies in the country,” said the CM.
