Veteran Odia actor Uttam Mohanty passes away

Bhubaneswar/New Delhi, February 27: Veteran Odia actor Uttam Mohanty, who was suffering from liver cirrhosis, passed away while undergoing treatment at Medanta Hospital in Delhi on Thursday evening. He was 66.

Mohanty was admitted to the ICU of a private hospital in Bhubaneswar first. He was also put on ventilator support. He was airlifted to Delhi on February 8 after his condition turned critical.

Mohanty acted in more than 130 Odia films, as well as 30 Bengali films and a Hindi film, ‘Naya Zaher’. Mohanty’s wife, Aparajita and son Babushaan are also actors.
