Bhubaneswar, March 8: Felicitations and health camp marked the International Women’s Day celebrations organised at the Regional EPFO Office in Bhubaneswar here on Saturday.
In a special initiative to mark International Women’s Day, the Regional Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO), organised a health camp for its employees in collaboration with Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) for accelerating the well being of all its personnel.
Additional PF Commissioner Uma Mandal graced the event as the chief guest and focused on the need for an inclusive society where both male and female persons have crucial roles to play in different capacities as parents, brothers, sisters, spouses, friends, relatives.
Regional PF Commissioner-II Gourav Mohanty graced the event as guest of honour. “This year marks 30 years of the Beijing Declaration concerning equality of women and men and this was the right time in India to fulfil this objective.”
While Additional PF Commissioner Uma Mandal was felicitated for being the first women Zonal Head of Odisha Zone, Maushumi Lata Padhi, Officer In-Charge, Woman cell was felicitated for being the first Odia Woman Assistant P.F. Commissioner & Odia woman Regional P.F. Commissioner II, Odisha region.
Woman achievers like Vipplavi Chauhan Singh, Assistant P.F. Commissioner Sukanti Kumari Panda, Assistant Director (Official Language), Section Supervisors, Senior Social Security Assistant, Social Security Assistants and outsourced personnel were also feted on the occasion for social security work.
A cultural programme was also organized where all women officials and children participated in song, dance and poetry sessions.
Every year, the International Women’s Day is celebrated with a particular theme that encourages positive change, inspires leadership, and promotes equal opportunities for women in all fields. And for 2025, the theme is ‘Accelerate Action’ which is a global call to acknowledge strategies, resources, and ways that positively impact women’s advancement in different spheres of life.
