Odisha: Vigilance arrests BMC Executive Engineer Jagannath Pattnaik in DA case

Bhubaneswar, July 24: The Odisha Vigilance Department on Thursday arrested Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) Executive Engineer Jagannath Pattnaik for allegedly possessing assets, including three multi storeyed buildings including one Bhubaneswar and three high value plots in the State capital city.

According to the Vigilance communique, another wildlife case was instituted against Pattnaik for illegal possession of antler horns, which was found during the searches by the anti-graft wing at his house in Bhubaneswar.

Pattnaik was found in possession of disproportionate assets comprising three multi storeyed buildings including one at Bhubaneswar and two at Gunpur in Rayagada distrct, one farm house, three high value plots in Bhubaneswar, 460 gram gold, Rs 80 lakh deposits, one four-wheeler (Grand Vitara), one pair of antler horns, a country made gun etc, which he could not account for satisfactorily, the Vigilance communique stated.

“Further, one more case vide OR case No 3 in Balipatna Forest Range under Khordha Wild Life Division of year 2025-26 under sec(9)(49)(51)of Wild Life Protection Act, 1972 was instituted against Sri Pattnaik, EE, BMC for illegal possession of antler horns,” it stated.
