transplant programme for which infrastructure, equipment and trained manpower
is being readied, announced Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday.

“With gastroenterological diseases emerging a major health
concern steps are being taken to ensure access to appropriate healthcare to
patients suffering from the diseases,” said Patnaik.

The State Government is setting up nine new medical colleges
of which two at Baripada and Koraput have already started functioning, the CM
added.

for holding the conference in our state and urged distinguished
gastroenterologists from across the country to devise newer techniques to make
advanced treatment more affordable and accessible to the people at large.
