Bhubaneswar, October 7, 2018: The Zonal Level Kho-Kho Tournament held under the aegis of DAV National Sports of The DAV institution of Odisha in both boys and girls concluded here at DAV Public School, Kalinga Nagar.
In a exiting final in the Boys section DAV Kalinga Nagar lifted the champion trophy by beating DAV Puri by 13-10 points where as in the girls section DAV Pokhariput beat DAV, Banharpalli to capture the champion title.
The DAV Puri and DAV Banaharpalli emerged as the runners-up in the tournament.
Joining as the chief guest in the event conducted by the Regional Director of Zone-1 and II the host school Principal Bipin Kumar Sahoo urged for a disciplined sports life to achieve greater success and felicitated the winners of the tournament.
Along with this the best Runner, Best Chaser and best disciplined team was also awarded. A total of 25 teams from 15 DAV schools of both zone I and II including 15 boys’ and 10 girls’ teams participated in this tournament. It provided an outstanding platform to more than 300 gifted kho-kho geniuses to showcase their talents in this zonal level competition to be selected for the national level while more than 100 escort teachers and officials helped them out in the field in conducting the event in a smooth manner. The best players of this tournament will be participating in the DAV National Tournament.
