Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik along with his BJD MPs will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi on June 9 in New Delhi.
It will be Chief Minister’s first meeting with PM Modi after the election results were announced on May 23.
Sources said Patnaik will present several crucial demands pertaining to the interest of Odisha before the Prime Minister. This apart, cyclone Fani restoration work and Odisha’s participation in Ayushman Bharat are likely to be discussed during the proposed meeting.
Patnaik is also likely to hold discussions with some other Union Ministers. The Chief Minister will leave for New Delhi for the purpose on Saturday.
BJD has won 117 seats in 147-member Assembly and 11 Lok Sabha seats of the total 21 parliamentary constituencies. BJP has won eight MP seats in Odisha.
Notably, Patnaik, who happens to be the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) president also, had met the Prime Minister along with his Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha MPs after the 2014 elections.
