Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Monday withdrew containment zone tag from Sundarpada and Jadupur-Begunia areas.
BMC Commissioner Prem Chandra Choudhury in a press conference here said that since all the samples collected from the Sundarpada and Jadupur-Begunia areas tested negative for Coronavirus (Covid-19) in the two containment zones, the civic body withdrew the containment tag from these areas.
Following the detection of the new cases, areas under ward no 64 and 67 under the BMC, covering the revenue villages of Jadupur, Begunia, Sundarpada, Ebaranga and Kapilaprasad, were declared containment zones and sealed on April 5 evening.
However, the regular restrictions of lockdown will prevail strictly as per the norms.
Now, the Bhubaneswar has three containment zones – Bomikhal, Surya Nagar and Satyanagar.
Meanwhile, one more person was tested positive for Covid-19 taking the total tally of infected person to 55 in Odisha.
