Odisha CM lays stone for Rs 65-Cr Cuttack Netaji Bus Terminal on Parakram Diwas

Cuttack, January 23: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday laid the foundation stone of Netaji Bus Terminal at Khannagar in Cuttack on the occasion of 125th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.

The day is being celebrated as Parakram Diwas across the country. Paying tributes to the great patriot, the Chief Minister said that Netaji was born and brought up in Cuttack. He learnt his lessons of selfless service and struggle on this soil. To give him a fitting tribute, Odisha will celebrate his 125th anniversary with much fanfare throughout the year.

To promote hassle-free movement of passengers, the proposed state-of-art bus terminal will be built under 5T framework at a cost of Rs 65 crore to help decongest the heritage city and will emerge as a model for others.

To be built on 11,000 square meter area, the bus terminal will have 180 bus bays and parking space for 275 cars and equivalent Car Space for two and four wheeler parking. With all necessary facilities for the passengers and a sophisticated design, the terminal will also add to elegance of the Silver City.

The terminal will have all kinds of modern facilities and Integrated Information Management system for convenience of passengers. A 3-storey terminal building will be constructed on 1,18,000 square ft area. And for the construction of terminal, the existing Ring Road will be extended by another 2 kms.
