2,989 new COVID-19 cases, two deaths reported in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, April 14: As many as 2,989 daily new COVID-19 cases have been detected in Odisha in the last 24 hours, taking the total cases in the State to 3,58,342, informed the Health and Family Welfare Department.

The State also recorded two more fresh casualties in Kalahandi and Keonjhar districts due to the virus. With this, the virus death toll mounted to 1,935.

Of the 2,989 new cases, 1,733 were detected from among the quarantined people while 1,256 were local contacts.

Highest 631 cases were reported in Sundergarh followed by Khurda 438 and Kalahandi 260.

These new cases have been detected in 30 districts of the State. This apart, 94 cases were reported from the State Pool.
