Bhubaneswar, May 11: Odisha on Tuesday reported 9,793 new COVID-19 positive cases, 18 deaths and 9,706 recoveries in the last 24 hours, as per the State Health and Family Welfare Department.
While today’s total positivity rate (TPR) stood at 21.17%, the TPR in State in last four days was recorded at 20.73% on Monday, 21 81% (Sunday), 23.21% (Saturday) and 24% (Friday).
On Saturday, the State had recorded 11,808 cases while the figure dropped to 10,635 on Sunday and 10,031 on Monday.
The number of daily COVID-19 positive cases continues to drop for the fourth consecutive day in Odisha. The State reported 9,793 fresh cases with 18 fatalities in last 24 hours. Notably, the single-day count had stood at 10,031 yesterday.
A total of 46,241 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.
The fresh infection has pushed the cumulative tally to 5,54,666 in the State. Out of 9,793 new cases, 5,534 have been detected from quarantine centres while rest 4,259 cases are local contacts.
The active cases in the State now stood at 94,829.
The cumulative recovered tally now recorded at 4,57,569 with 9,706 new recoveries being reported in the last 24 hours.
Khurda and Sundergarh continue to remain worst affected with registering 1,511 and 1,018 new infections in last 24 hours, respectively. Cuttack recorded 641 cases followed by Angul 526, Jharsuguda (404), Nuapada (401).
Similarly, 302 cases had been detected in Nabarangpur district, 356 in Sambalpur, 351 in Puri, 376 in Jajpur, 342 in Bolangir and 314 in Balasore district.
While Bargarh reported 270 cases, Ganjam recorded 276 cases followed by Kalahandi (224), Keonjhar (244) and Nayagarh 254.
Only three districts – Malkangiri, Dhenkanal, Bhadrak – recorded infections below 100.

1. An 83 years old male of Angul district.
2. A 65 years old male of Angul district.
3. A 60 years old male of Angul district.
4. A 45 years old male of Angul district.
5. A 77 years old male of Bhubaneswar who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus & Hypothyroid.
6. An 85 years old male of Bhubaneswar who was also suffering from Coronary Artery Disease, Hypertension & Diabetes Mellitus.
7. A 45 years old female of Boudh district.
8. A 45 years old male of Deogarh district who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus & Hypertension.
9. A 62 years old male of Gajapati district.
10. A 26 years old male of Khordha district.
11. A 39 years old male of Kalahandi district.
12. A 29 years old male of Kalahandi district who was also suffering from Sickle cell Disease.
13. A 60 years old female of Malkangiri district.
14. A 52 years old male of Puri district.
15. A 77 years old male of Rayagada district who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus & Coronary Artery Disease.
16. A 45 years old male of Rayagada district.
17. A 53 years old male of Sundargarh district who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus.
18. A 55 years old female of Sundargarh district.
