Odisha Vigilance arrests Motu IIC

Bhubaneswar, September 23: The Odisha Vigilance Department on Thursday arrested Malkangiri’s Motu police station IIC Susanta Sahu, who was caught with Rs 2.8 lakh ‘ill-gotten’ money on Wednesday.

Yesterday, the anti-corruption wing of the Odisha Police intercepted Sahu near Khurda and seized Rs 2.8 lakh in cash from his possession while he was travelling in a car from Motu to Phulnakhara in Cuttack district. Sahu could not give a satisfactory account of the cash which is suspected to be ill gotten and was detained.

“Susanta Kumar Sahoo, Inspector In-Charge, Motu PS, MKG has been arrested today for possession of unaccounted cash Rs 2.8 lakh, which he could not satisfactorily account for. He was intercepted yesterday at Khurda while plying from Motu to his native village, Nakhara,” says a Vigilance Department statement.

“During house searches, among other incriminating material, a regd. sale deed of value Rs 24,90,000 of plot at Nakhara, purchased recently in the name of his wife, has been recovered,” it added.
