BSF organises Civic Action Programme for Koraput villagers

Koraput, February 12: The 151 Battalion BSF on Saturday organised a Civic Action Programme in Mathpada village for the residents of 11 villages – Dalpur, Tipaguda, Jhilimiliguda, Punjabiguda, Lodkaguda, Pradhanmala, Kupliguda, Simliguda, Murjaguda, Musapadar and Malaguda – under Boipariguda block in the district. During the event, clothes, stationary, households and sports items were distributed to nearly 600 villagers.

During the programme, Koraput Sector DIG Madan Lal and Commandant Ajay Kumar were present.

“Such welfare programmes inculcate a sense of security amongst the citizens. More such programmes would be organised in the future,” said DIG Madan Lal

The DIG, in his address also motivated youths to complete their education, remain healthy and fit. He requested them to join the security forces and serve the country and assured them of all possible help in pre recruitment training.

Border Security Force (BSF), the first line of Defence has always been doing to develop a good rapport and mutual trust in the minds of the people in its deployed areas. BSF has been organising sports activities and distributing sports items to the youth, said Lal.

Civic Action Programme (CAP) is one of the major outreach initiatives being conducted every year by BSF deployed in the Maoist affected districts and able to win the confidence and support of local populace in the places of deployment. Even COVID-19 pandemic could not deter the spirit in achieving the objective, he added.

Purnima Bergia, Sarpanch of Matpada, Mr Chamru mahanand, Head Master, Dalpur High School, Ward Members of the area appreciated the programme of BSF. A cultural event was also organised by the villagers.
