Trainee IAS officers meet Odisha Chief Secretary

Bhubaneswar, October 11: Ten IAS probationers of 2022 batch allotted to Bihar cadre called on Chief Secretary Pradeep Kumar Jena here on Thursday.

Chief Secretary Jena shared his long administrative experience with the young trainees who had come to take training in district linked work management at Gopabandhu Administrative Academy.

The Chief Secretary explained how challenging it was to manage various disasters in Odisha starting from 1999 super cyclone to the cyclones that had occurred in the last subsequent years including cyclone Fani in 2019 and the Bahanga train accident occurred in June, this year.

“During your service period you will face different types of challenges in managing various natural or manmade disasters. Detail strategic and focused planning, determination and commitment in this direction will help them to perform their duties successfully,” advised the Chief Secretary.

General Administration and Public Grievance Department Additional Chief Secretary Surendra Kumar and Gopabandhu Academy of Administration Additional Director General Manish Agarwal were present during the courtesy visit by the trainee officers.
