CBI court sentences Odisha Gramya Bank Manager to 4-year RI in graft case

Bhubaneswar, January 30: The Special Judge Bhubaneswar has sentenced the then Odisha Gramya Bank Branch Manager Duryodhan Sethy to four years of rigorous imprisonment (RI) in a bribery case.

According to a CBI communique, CBI has registered a case on August 8, 2016 against then Sethy, the then Branch Manager of Odisha Gramya Bank, Dadaraghati Branch, in Dhenkanal district on allegations of demanding bribe from complainant for processing the Poultry Loan proposal for Rs 4.25 lakh in favour of his wife.

A trap was laid and CBI caught the accused while accepting Rs 5,000 as bribe money on August 9, 2016.

After investigation, chargesheet was filed on October 27, 2016. The Court held the accused guilty after trial.
