Bhubaneswar: A webinar on the theme “Protecting Rights of the Marginalized during Covid” was organized and hosted by the Centre for the Sustainable Use of Natural and Social Resources (CSNR) here on Saturday.
Around around 100 interns on human rights issues attended the webinar, while legal luminaries of the country such as senior advocate Mihir Desai from Bombay High Court and distinguished member of Odisha Human Rights Commission (OHRC), Asim Amitabh Das, were speakers at the meeting.
The webinar intended to draw insight from the current situations, in the light of legal environment and constitutional arrangements. Rising vulnerabilities among the common people in general and marginalized in particular were discussed with indicative reference to infringement of people’s rights and entitlements during Covid.
Desai while recollecting his past experience in the legal profession stated that rapid change in the societal landscape has led to unprecedented expansion in human rights issues and varying cases of human rights.
