Bhubaneswar, October 26: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday released the first tranche of matching grant of Rs 1.5 crore to 12 colleges and two universities under the “Mo College” campaign through video conferencing from his residence Naveen Niwas here.
As per the mandate of the campaign, this is double the amount made by various contributors to these institutes.
Addressing the programme, CM Patnaik announced 40 colleges will be developed under 5T in the first phase. This will provide state-of-the-art campus, classrooms, and offer a transformed learning experience benefitting over 30,000 students of Odisha at the UG and PG levels.
The Chief Minister said the success of school transformation programme became inspiration for taking up such initiatives for the higher education institutions. He added State Government is developing 1,070 schools for transformation which will be completed by November 14.
He envisioned that the College Transformation Programme will give an ideal ambience and guidance to channelise the youthful vigour and irrepressible energy of our young souls.
“I called upon the people, especially the members of alumni to join the “Mo College” campaign,” said Patnaik.
