Bhubaneswar, December 30: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Tuesday appealed to the public not to visit his office to convey New Year greetings and also urged government employees to refrain from participating in greeting or felicitation programmes during office hours, stating that January 1 is a regular Government working day and official work will continue as usual.

In a post on X, the Chief Minister said his office would function normally on the first day of the New Year and requested well-wishers to avoid courtesy visits.

“Since the first day of the New Year is a Government working day, my office will operate like any regular working day, and Government work will proceed as usual. Therefore, I request that no one visit my office to extend New Year greetings or congratulations,” Majhi wrote.

He urged Government employees to refrain from participating in greeting or felicitation programmes during office hours and focus on their official responsibilities.

“I also request Government employees not to participate in greeting and congratulatory activities during office hours, but to focus on office work. The goodwill of the people of Odisha as well as my well-wishers has always been with me,” the Chief Minister further wrote.

Expressing gratitude for the goodwill and support of the people of Odisha, the Chief Minister further requested those wishing to extend greetings at his official residence not to bring gifts or bouquets, stating that their goodwill and blessings were more than sufficient.

“I extend New Year greetings to the people. May Lord Jagannath bless all,” CM Majhi wrote.
