Bhubaneswar: Biju Janata Jal (BJD) president and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday visited Capital Hospital here to enquire about the health condition of Bhubaneswar-Central MLA candidate Anant Narayan Jena who sustained serious injuries following a bomb attack on him Sunday night.
Jena is admitted in the Capital Hospital ICU following yesterday’s bomb attack on him by some unidentified miscreants. Jena has received injuries in his face, head and hand.
Notably, three bike-borne unidentified youths intercepted the Maruti-800 car in which Jena was travelling along with the driver on the Jharpada Canal Road here on Sunday night under Laxmisagar police station. When the car stopped, the miscreants hurled crude bombs at the car.
Notably, the former Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) Mayor was attacked hours after some unknown bike borne miscreants hurled crude bombs at a vehicle of BJP’s Bhubaneswar-Central candidate Jagannath Pradhan at Delta Colony under Nayapalli police station limits.
Bhubaneswar parliamentary constituency and seven Assembly segments coming under it go to the polls in the third phase of Lok Sabha elections on April 23.
