Bhubaneswar: In a good news to its employees, the State Government on Saturday declared fourth Saturday of every month as general holiday.
According to a notification issued by the General Administration and Public Grievance Department, the first half every fourth Saturday will be devoted by the Heads of Offices at all levels for deliberating, training, brainstorming.
“In order to improve the efficiency in administration and to make it more citizen centric, the Government has been taking various innovative steps. Taking into consideration all related issues and in suppression of all previous orders issued in this behalf, Government declared fourth Saturday of every month as general holiday for all State Government employees. The day-to-day working hours in the Government offices will be from 10 am to 5.30 pm with half an hour lunch break from 1.30 pm to 2 pm,” it said.
The revised timings will not be applicable to vacation departments, it added.
