Koraput: Nandanik, a Koraput-based will hold a three-day Online Theatre Festival between August 1 and 3 here on the occasion of its 6th Foundation Day and 5th Deomali National Theatre Festival 2020 on 2-3 August 2020.
The objective of the programme is to provide moral boost and support to theatre artists who have reclined to homes due to Covid pandemic.
The schedule comprises foundation day lecture, Asim Basu Memorial Award, two webinars on theatre and seven plays in five Indian languages – Odia, Telegu, Bangla, Hindi and Marathi.
The Foundation Day Lecture on ‘Abhivyakti & Abhinaya’ will be delivered by Padma Bibhushan Dr. Sonal Mansingh.
The Asim Basu Award which is given as a mark of encouragement to young theatre artist of KBK region will be awarded to Himanshu Ranjan Mohanty of Kotpad. It is awarded jointly by Nandanik in association with Asim Basu Foundation, Bhubaneswar and will be handed over virtually by Bhaswati Basu, eminent actress and founder the foundation.
The topics of the seminar are, Theatre & Literature and Theatre: Classical vs. Folk and features eminent panelists from all over India. The panelists are Nabin Parida, Narayan Panda, Sanjay Hati, Avi Chakrabarty,Pritidhara Samal, Debapriya Priyadarshi Chakra, Surabhi Biplove, Sangita Chakrabarty, Ranjit Jena, Narayan Sahu, Jayanta Kar Sharma, Namrata Chaddha, Anshuman Bhowmik, Srinivas Dhenchanala, Harish Ethape, Kriti Mazumdar and Monideepa Gupta.
The drama to be streamed are Mime drama by Mimic, Kolkata, Nayeeka in Odia by Nandanik, Koraput, Sujaner Golpo in Bangla by Ashoknagar Nattyamukh, Dhruvaswamini in Hindi by Black Soil Theatre, Wardha, Terav in Marathi by Adhyayan Bharati Agro Theatre, Maharashtra, Bali in Telegu by Janapadam Theatre Repertory, Hyderabad, Devigarjan in Bangla by Kathok Performing Repertoire, Howrah, Chandaluni in Odia by Nandanik, Koraput.
The programme is dedicated to the memory of deceased theatre stalwarts Girish Karnad, Usha Ganguly, Irrfan Khan and Bijay Mohanty. It will be streamed in the facebook page Nandanik.
