Bhubaneswar-Junagarh Road Express upgraded to modern LBH coaches

Odisha

Bhubaneswar, August 22: The 20837/20838 Bhubaneswar-Junagarh Road-Bhubaneswar Express has now been fully upgraded to modern Linke Hofmann Busch (LHB) coaches, ensuring enhanced safety, comfort, and travel experience for passengers.

The LHB-equipped service will commence its journey from Bhubaneswar on August 25, and from Junagarh Road on August 26, said an East Coast Railway (ECoR) statement.

“Until now, this train was operating with one LHB rake and one conventional ICF rake. With this upgrade, both rakes in the up and down directions will uniformly feature LHB coaches,” it stated.

The new train composition includes two second AC coaches, four Third AC coaches, five Sleeper Class coaches, four Second Class seating coaches, one Guard-cum-Power Car and one Guard-cum-Second Class coach with facilities for Divyangjan passengers.

Earlier, it had been announced that one rake would be converted to LHB coaches from August 8. Now, building on that initiative, the transition has been completed for both rakes.

This conversion marks a major improvement in passenger amenities and operational efficiency, strengthening rail connectivity between the coastal and tribal regions of Odisha, major towns of Andhra Pradesh, and the state capital, Bhubaneswar.
