Cyclone Montha: ECoR opens helpdesks for passengers

Bhubaneswar, October 28: In view of the approaching Cyclone ‘Montha’ and to ensure the safety of passengers and train operations, Khurda Road Division and Waltair Division of the East Coast Railway (ECoR) has opened helpdesks at different places.

While Khurda Road Division has opened helpdesks at Palasa, Khurda Road and Bhubaneswar stations, the Waltair Division has also established Helpdesks at Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram, Srikakulam Road, Duvvada and at Rayagada, said an ECoR statement.

Meanwhile, as a precautionary measure, the Railways cancelled services of 42 trains, while two trains have been diverted, five trains have been short-terminated/short-originated, and 8 trains have been rescheduled in view of the weather system.

Among important trains, Konark Express (11020) was also cancelled today.

The East Coast Railway urged passengers to check the latest train status before commencing their journey and to avoid unnecessary travel during the cyclone period.
