Bhubaneswar, December 4: The Commissionerate Police on Sunday issued a detailed traffic advisory ahead of the T20 match between India and South Africa scheduled for Thursday, December 9. The match will be held at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack. Practice session for players will be held on Monday.

Restrictions will be in force from 12 noon to 9 PM of December 8 and from 8 AM to till the end of the match or disposal of crowd on December 9.

“In view of security concern of the players / officials and to ensure better regulation of free flow of traffic in the interest of general public, by virtue of power conferred on me u/s 28 of Odisha Urban Police Act, 2003 (Odisha Act 8 of 2007) and in pursuance of Regulation 36 of Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Police Commissionerate (Traffic and Public Order) Regulation, 2008, the following restrictions are imposed on 08.12.2025 from 12 noon to 9 PM and on 09.12.2025 from 8 AM to till the end of the match or disposal of crowd,” said the notification.

1. Vehicles coming from the Mata Matha side shall park at the Lower Baliyatra Ground. Pass-holder vehicles shall take a left turn at the Bamboo Depot and park at the Upper Baliyatra Ground.

2. Vehicles coming from Howrah Motor Chhak and Mani Sahoo Chhak shall not be allowed towards Madhusudan Statue from Grinnar Hotel Chhak. They shall use the Mahanadi Ring Road via Old Law Hostel-gada and park at the Lower Baliyatra Ground.

3. Except pass-holder vehicles, no other vehicles shall be allowed towards Barabati Stadium from Biju Pattanaik Chhak or Chandi Chhak. Such vehicles shall proceed via Cantonment PS Chhak and park at the Lower Baliyatra Ground.

4. No vehicles shall be allowed towards Baliyatra Ground via Killa Fort from Ananda Bhawan Chhak. They shall proceed via Cantonment PS Chhak and park at the Lower Baliyatra Ground.

5. Except pass-holder vehicles, no other vehicles shall be allowed towards Madhusudan Statue via Hanuman Mandir Chhak when approaching from Samaj Office Chhak.

6. Odisha Cricket Academy (OCA) Ground pass-holder vehicles shall proceed towards YMCA Crossing or Lions Eye Hospital, and thereafter park at OCA Cricket Academy Ground.

7. Vehicles coming from the Reserve Police Line shall not be allowed to enter Barabati Stadium through Odisha Police Association (OPA) Chhak.

8. Except pass-holder vehicles, no vehicles shall be allowed towards Barabati Stadium from Madhusudan Statue Chhak.

9. Except pass-holder vehicles, no vehicles shall be allowed towards Barabati Stadium from Lions Eye Hospital Chhak via Kill Khana Road. These vehicles shall use the Ring Road and park at the Lower Baliyatra Ground.

10. Movement of heavy vehicles shall be strictly prohibited on the Mahanadi and Kathajodi Ring Roads, as well as inside the city limits, from 8:00 AM to 2:00 AM.

11. Due to the players’ practice session on 08.12.2025 at Barabati Stadium, the movement of heavy vehicles shall remain completely restricted on the Mahanadi Ring Road from Chahata Chhak and Sikharpur Chhak towards Bamboo Depot, from 12 noon to 10:00 PM.

Entry Routes & Parking Lots

Vehicles carrying VIPs will enter through the Ring Road will be allowed to drop off at the stadium but must exit immediately for parking at Upper Baliyatra Ground.

General spectators can park their vehicles at Lower Baliyatra Ground.

Members of the OCA and other dignitaries can park their vehicles at the Cricket Academy Ground while TV crew and pass holders will be allowed to park their vehicles in front of the Horse gate.

Vehicles of VIPs/dignitaries (pass holders) will be allowed to enter the stadium through Madhusudan Statue/Kalu Canteen and also through Gate No. 14 and park their vehicles at OCA Club and Xavier School Parking

“Heavy traffic is expected on all routes leading to the Stadium due to team movement and match related activities. Commuters are requested to plan their travel accordingly and follow the instruction of traffic personnel,” the police stated.
