International Lecture on Cancer Awareness Held at Maa Manikeshwari University

Bhawanipatna: An international lecture was held at the Department of Zoology of Maa Manikeshwari University, Bhawanipatna, on Monday, focusing on cancer awareness and prevention. The lecture was presented by Dr. Reeti Behera, a renowned scientist from the United States, who shared her insights on the scientific causes of cancer and various preventive measures that individuals and communities can adopt to stay informed and protected.

Dr. Behera emphasized the importance of public awareness in combating cancer and discussed how lifestyle changes and proactive health practices can help reduce the risk of the disease. Her talk was well-received by the audience, which included over a hundred students from the Department of Zoology.

Dr. Nibedita Nath, Vice-Chancellor of Maa Manikeshwari University, delivered the welcome address and highlighted the growing threat of cancer in today’s world. She urged students to pay closer attention to their lifestyle and overall well-being, noting that a balanced and mindful life can play a significant role in preventing such diseases.

Dr. Subrat Kumar Panigrahi, Head of the Department of Zoology, introduced the guest speaker, while Dr. Muntaz Khan, Assistant Professor in the same department, offered the formal welcome and efficiently moderated the Q&A session that followed.

The event also saw participation from several other distinguished faculty members, including Dr. Ghanashyam Behera (Head of the Botany Department), and faculty from the Zoology Department. The lecture was praised for its informative content and international collaboration, providing students with valuable exposure to global scientific research and health awareness.
