OPS Chandrasekhar honoured with Professor Bhubaneswar Behera Sahitya Samman

Bhubaneswar, November 11: Senior OPS officer, eminent essayist and literary critic Dr Chandrasekhar Hota has been honoured with the prestigious State-Level Professor Bhubaneswar Behera Sahitya Samman on the occasion of the 61st Mahavir Mahotsav.

The event was organised by Mahavir Sanskrutik Anusthan, Bhawanipatna, and was presided over by Jayanta Kumar Behera, the organisation’s former president.

Rajya Sabha MP Sujeet Kumar graced the occasion as the chief guest, while President Shantanu Kumar Behera, Vice-President Sanjay Kumar, and General Secretary Satyanarayan Singh were present on the dais.

Dr Hota, a prominent voice in Odia literary criticism, has earned wide recognition for his thought-provoking works such as ‘Kalpana, Anubhava o Sahitya’, ‘Chetanara Anwesana’, ‘Sanskritika Ahwan’, and ‘Bibeka Bilochana’. He has also published two translated works, edited several anthologies, and contributed numerous insightful columns.

His essays are celebrated for their depth of philosophical thought, analytical rigour, and refined presentation style. Over the years, Dr Hota has received multiple accolades, including the Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puraskar, Kalindi Charan Panigrahi Prabandha Samman, and Kala Bhumi Samman.

He has also represented Odia literature on various national and international platforms, promoting the richness of Odisha’s literary heritage. Currently, Dr Hota serves as the Secretary of the Odisha Sahitya Akademi and the Odisha Sangeet Natak Akademi.

Expressing his gratitude upon receiving the award, he stated that the honour would motivate him to pursue his literary journey with greater dedication and responsibility.
