Bikaner, Rajasthan: Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today inaugurated, laid the foundation stone, and dedicated to the nation multiple development projects worth over ₹26,000 crore in Bikaner, Rajasthan. The high-profile event, attended by dignitaries from 18 states and union territories, marks a significant step in India’s mission to accelerate infrastructure growth and improve nationwide connectivity.
Addressing a large gathering, PM Modi highlighted the transformative scope of the projects and congratulated citizens for being part of India’s development journey. “After seeking blessings from Karni Mata, I arrived here to witness a new chapter in India’s progress. These initiatives reflect our resolve to build a Viksit Bharat,” the Prime Minister stated.
India’s Infrastructure Revolution
PM Modi emphasized that over the past 11 years, India has increased its infrastructure investment six-fold, attracting global attention. He spotlighted landmark projects like the Chenab Bridge in the north, Sela Tunnel in the east, and the Atal Setu in Mumbai.
A key highlight was the modernisation of India’s railway network. The PM showcased the Vande Bharat, Amrit Bharat, and Namo Bharat trains as symbols of India’s rapid progress. “Nearly 70 Vande Bharat routes are operational, bringing cutting-edge connectivity to even remote regions,” he said.
Additionally, PM Modi revealed that over 34,000 km of new railway tracks have been laid, and 1,300+ stations are being redeveloped under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. These modern stations, such as Dakor (Gujarat) and Thawe (Bihar), preserve local heritage while offering world-class amenities.
Key Railway and Road Projects
The PM inaugurated the electrification of multiple rail routes including Suratgarh-Phalodi (336 km), Phulera-Degana (109 km), and Udaipur-Himmatnagar (210 km), aligning with India’s goal of 100% railway electrification.
The event also marked the foundation stone laying of 3 Vehicle Underpasses and the widening of national highways, with 7 major road projects worth ₹4,850 crore being dedicated to the nation. These roadways enhance Indo-Pak border accessibility and national defence logistics.
Power and Solar Initiatives in Rajasthan
Furthering the goal of clean and green energy, PM Modi inaugurated solar power projects in Bikaner and Didwana Kuchaman. Transmission systems under PowerGrid Sirohi and Mewar projects were also launched to ensure efficient power evacuation.
He spotlighted the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, under which over 40,000 households in Rajasthan have benefitted, drastically reducing their electricity bills while enabling income through solar energy generation.
Healthcare and Water Supply Expansion
PM Modi also inaugurated new nursing colleges in Rajsamand, Pratapgarh, Bhilwara, and Dholpur, strengthening Rajasthan’s health education infrastructure.
The government launched critical water supply projects, including the Rural Water Supply and Fluorosis Mitigation Project in Jhunjhunu and Urban Water Supply Schemes in Pali District under AMRUT 2.0. These initiatives aim to ensure clean drinking water and improved quality of life in rural and urban areas alike.
Industrial Growth and Employment in Rajasthan
The Prime Minister hailed Rajasthan’s emergence as a petro-industrial hub, with its upcoming refinery nearing completion. He also praised the six-lane Amritsar-Jamnagar Economic Corridor and the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, both of which are driving Rajasthan’s economic ascent.
He emphasized how products like Bikaneri Bhujia and Rasgulla will now reach global markets more efficiently, boosting local industries and employment.
Decisive Stand Against Terrorism – Operation Sindoor
In a powerful address, Prime Minister Narendra Modi referenced the April 22 terrorist attack in Pahalgam, condemning the assault on innocent lives and underscoring the nation’s united resolve against terrorism.
He revealed that India responded swiftly and decisively through Operation Sindoor, during which nine major terrorist hideouts were destroyed within just 22 minutes in a precision strike.
Reaffirming India’s unwavering stance on national security, the Prime Minister outlined a clear three-pronged doctrine: every terror attack on India will be met with a decisive and timely response, nuclear threats will not deter the country’s resolve, and India will no longer differentiate between terrorists and the states that harbor or support them.
Looking Ahead
In conclusion, PM Modi lauded the spirit of Rajasthan, a land of valor and rich heritage, calling the Bikaner event a testament to India’s balanced, inclusive, and future-driven development. “Every rupee invested in infrastructure today is shaping a brighter, stronger India tomorrow,” he said.
Present at the event were Governor Shri Haribhau Kisanrao Bagade, Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma, and Union Ministers Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw and Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal, among others.
