Odisha CM launches Plasma Bank at Capital Hospital

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaikon Tuesday inaugurated second Plasma Bank at Capital Hospital here.

After encouraging results of this treatment method in the initial phases, plasma banks will start functioning at IGH in Rourkela, VIMSAR in Burla & MKCG Medical and Hospital, Berhampur to treat serious Covid patients. The first plasma bank is functioning at SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack.


The Chief Minister emphasised, it is a solemn commitment that no person will be deprived of advanced medical treatment in Odisha. 
Patnaik thanked the State police, Fire Services and NDRF personnel for voluntarily donating plasma & inspiring many others towards the noble deed.


The Chief Minister CM also launched a web portal https://covid19.odisha.gov.in to facilitate plasma donation where recovered patients can register themselves and donate plasma to save lives.


The CM hoped that it will soon be a community driven initiative with more and more people participating in it.
