Odisha Matric results out: 78.76% students clear Board exam

Cuttack: A total of 78.76 per cent regular students in Odia medium schools cleared the annual High School Certificate (HSC) examinations in Odisha this year, the results of which were declared on Wednesday by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) here.

While Bargarh district toped the pass percentage list at 89.37%, Nuapada recorded the lowest pass percentage at 60.18%. Khurda recorded 87.28% pass percentage followed by Puri (86.82%), Nayagarh (86.63%), Sundargarh (85.85%) and Cuttack (84.45%).

School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash announced the results.

As usual, girls have outnumbered boys in the examination. Of the 262738 girl students, 215368 have passed the exam this year with pass percentage of 81.98%. Of the total 247451 boys, a total of 192501 have passed the test with pass percentage of 77.8%.

A total 4, 21,256 students passed in the HSC exams.

While 1279 students have passed the exam in A1 grade, 8,458 students have cleared the test in A2 – 8,458, 18,188 students in B1 grade, 31, 328 students in B2 grade, 49, 153 in C grade, 89, 556 in D grade and 2,23,195 in E grade, respectively.

As many as 678 schools registered 100 per cent results compared to 289 schools last years. On the other hand, 31 schools have registered nil results compared to 82 schools last years.
