4th global mgnt convention-IMC’2014 kicks off

Bhubaneswar:
The three-day fourth international management convention-IMC’2014 being organized by
Asian School of Business Management (ASBM) kicked off here at the ASBM on
Thursday.

Intellectuals
from across the globe including countries like USA, Nepal, France have come together to
attend the convention. The topic of the convention is ‘Business of Being in
Business: New Prospective.’
State
Bank of Hyderabad managing director M Bhagavantha Rao inaugurated the
event and said, “Management institutes of the country should
internationalize their approach to equip students to become global managers.
Positive attitude can make impossible possible. So a management professional
should have positive attitude.”
Stressing
on the need of skilled workforce, Rao said, “To build a developed nation, we
must build better society and better society is only possible through better
people. Innovation and character and mind-building should be included in the
academia for the generation of skilled manpower.”
“Country
has a sizable youth population. Young workforce means having more innovative
minds. So stress should be given to generate more skilled workforce. A growing
and skilled workforce is an advantage for both the manufacturing and services
sectors. Management professional should not be reactive. They should respond
rather than react,” said DS Ravindra Raju, Chief Operating Officer,
Paradeep Phosphates Ltd.
Addressing
the next-generation leaders, Prof. Oopali Operajita, Senior Policy and
International Affairs Adviser Chair, The AI Gore Sustainable Technology Venture
Competition & Distinguished fellow, Carnegie Mellon University, USA said, “It is a crucial task
to scale up the potential of people entering in to the workforce but it is
possible only through the quality education. We should enhance the quality of
education so that the students can get better opportunities in their respective
fields which will generate huge employment opportunities at large.”
“Youth
plays a key role in nation building and they can walk on the path of progress
only if they stay away from social evils,” she added.
