RAAS opens design studio at Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: RAAS, a joint venture between known vocal
artist of Odisha Ms. Rashmi Mohapatra and internationally reputed high fashion
designer Pritam Panda based at Dubai opened its high fashion handloom design
studio at Patia on Nandankanan road near KIIT Square in Bhubaneswar on
Wednesday.

The studio was set up
primarily with an aim to introduce the exquisite traditional skills of Odisha
weavers.

Having succeeded through trade fairs, exhibitions and online
outlet (www.raasindia.co.in), RAAS has now launched its own design studio in
Bhubaneswar. The launching also marks the opening of an exhibition of a
collection of its newest creations of Anarkali dresses, kurtis, sarees,
lehengas, stoles, coats and shrugs, quilts and many more trendy designer wear
with each piece created in an unique manner to combine the traditional weaving
technique of Ikat, Bomkai, Sambalpuri, Pasapalli and other weaving styles of
Odisha with latest fashions and design trends. In men’s wear one can also get
half and full sleeved jackets, over coats made of traditional silk with Ikat,
Pasapalli and Bomkai patterned stitches etc. In coming days, RAAS is also
planning to come out with some kids’ wear and more varieties of men’s clothing.
Some of the best master weavers of Odisha weave for RAAS to
designs given by Ms Rashmi Mohapatra’s team of designers under the guidance of
Mr Pritam Panda. The clothes are fabricated by designers specialized in high
fashion garments.
On the opening ceremony of RAAS, fashion designer Mr Pritam
Panda, Ms Payal, vocal artist Rashmi Mohapatra, many eminent personalities and
several budding fashion designers of Odisha were present.

 It may be noted here
that the fashion design studio will remain open for exhibition and sale on all
days between 10.30 am to 6 pm in the evening.
