Bhubaneswar, April 12, 2018: To meet the challenges in
ever-changing scenario in multi-dimension disaster response, the Odisha
Disaster Rapid Action Force (ODRAF) and Odisha Fire Service are conducting Area
Familiarization Exercises Community Awareness Programme (FAMEX/CAP) to upgrade
people about their responsibility during an emergency situation.

The Odisha State Disaster Management Authority (OSDMA) has
prepared the FAMEX/CAP Calendar 2018 separately for ODRAF and Fire Service that
will cover 47 blocks of all the 30 districts.

The programmes are aimed to familiarise, acquaint with the
area of responsibility, to test communication and equipment held for disaster
response, to collect information of resources and update information/database,
and to interact with district administration.

The events also aim to educate local communities acquire
