Kolkata gets KISS

Education

Kolkata: The foundation stone for the proposed KISS Residential School was laid at Joka in Kolkata. The project will come up in association with East India Rotary Welfare Trust and Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS).

Help Us Help Them, a Kolkata based NGO founder Mukti Gupta was instrumental in bringing the project to Joka as she believes education as the most powerful weapon to end all problems.

KISS was founded in 1991-1992 and it’s been 27 years. It is a home for 50,000 poor tribal children availing free education, shelter, food and residence from KG to PG.

In 1992, we started with 150 students and now we have 15,000 Alumni, 27000 students studying and 10,000 students in the satellite campus of KISS in ten different districts of Odisha.

It almost three decades that I have been serving 50,000 students with the help of KIIT.

After Mukhti Gupta visited KISS she was so impressed that she promised KIIT and KISS founder Achyuta Samanta to open another branch of KISS in West Bengal because she has inclination towards social work.
