Bhubaneswar: Ahead of the general elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Odisha unit on Sunday launched a website, inviting suggestions from people for its ‘Sankalp Patra’ (election manifesto) for the 2019 polls.
Senior BJP leader Biswabhusan Harichandan, who heads the party’s manifesto committee, launched the website titled www.bjpodishasankalppatra.com and said it will help the party connect with its voters.
“We always want our manifesto reflect the aspirations of the masses, especially those of the Young India and farmers. It should address concerns of the people and it should redefine the way Odisha is governed now,” said Harichandan after launching the website.
Harichandan said the focus will be given on agriculture, industry and food processing units in the State while preparing the manifesto. The website contains a form on the left side. One can submit suggestions there by giving their address.
Harichandan said BJP aims to build a modern, prosperous and vibrant Odisha and India and to achieve this it needs active support of the public. “So, we seek people’s cooperation and valuable suggestion to prepare our ‘Sankalp-Patra’ which will be an instrument to transform Nua Odisha and Nua India,” said Harichandan.
The crucial Lok Sabha and Assembly elections are due in May this year.
