13 ‘pink polling booths’ for women voters in Ganjam

Berhampur: The Election Commission will establish 13 ‘pink polling stations’ for women voters that will be completely managed by the women staff in Ganjam district for the upcoming Assembly and Lok Sabha elections.

The pink booths will be managed by female workers only. Every Legislative constituency will have one pink booth. At least six female workers will present in each pink booth. Training of 98 female workers has been started at Chhatrapur for the purpose.

Even female security personnel will be deployed at the pink booths. The polling stations will be painted in pink hues and the staff will also be attired in pink.

This year as many as 3,063 polling booths have been set up in Ganjam district.

On the other hand 10 model booths are planned to set up in district. In these booths voters will be welcomed specially. The move is aimed at increasing the interest of voters.
