Kandhamal: To create awareness on poll issues and also to raise awareness of voter participation in the upcoming elections in tribal dominated Kandhamal district, the G Udayagiri block administration has recently conducted an awareness campaign at Sikri Dam under Malikapoto gram panchayat.
The event was organised as part of the ongoing programmes by the district administration to create awareness among the public in a bid to increase the voter turnout. A large number of locals, including women participated in the sensitisation programme.
G Udayagiri Block Development Officer (BDO) Santanu Nayak, Tehsildar Bhikari Sahu and other senior officials, who took part in the campaign held recently, appealed to the villagers to ensure that, apart from themselves, their friends and relatives also voted in the election on April 18.
The BDO vividly elaborated the voting procedures to the local voters and also the importance of the elections.
