Cuttack: Former Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) corporator and former BJD leader Ranjita Biswal was arrested once again today. Three guns and live bullets were seized from her possession.
Chauliaganj police nabbed Biswal on charges of indulging in illegal arms trade. Further investigation is on in the case.
Ranjita was arrested earlier in connection with her links with gangster brothers Sushant and Sushil Dhalasamant. She was out on bail.
Ranjita was arrested on March 7 last year by the Sadar police for allegedly supplying firearms to one Mrityunjay Nayak, who was allegedly hired by gangster Sushant to kill a contractor Bijan Pal in Cuttack.
Ranjita, who was the corporator of ward 7, was suspended from BJD after her arrest.
