NEET results out, pass percentage dips in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The National Testing Agency (NTA) announced the results of the National Eligibility-cum- Entrance Test (UG) – 2019 on Monday. The average pass percentage was 59.44 per cent against last year’s 60.68 per cent in Odisha.

According to a PIB communiqué, out of 32,378 students from Odisha, only 19,244 have qualified the exam. A total of 35,093 students had enrolled for the test conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

However, Sangeeta Agrawal from the State secured 17th rank among top 20 female scorers in the country and overall rank of 91 in the examination. She has obtained 680 out of total 720 marks thereby securing an overall rank of 91 in the examination.

This year, Odisha recorded the pass percentage at 59.44 per cent while it was 60.68 per cent last year.

The NEET was conducted in the State on May 20 in the wake of cyclone Fani though it was earlier scheduled for May 5. Candidates can check their result from the official website – https://ntaneet.nic.in.

The qualifies can take admission to MBBS/BDS Courses in Indian Medical/Dental Colleges run with the approval of Medical Council of India/Dental Council of India under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, except for the institutions established through an Act of Parliament i.e. AIIMS and JIPMER Puducherry.

As per the notice posted on the official website of Medical Council of India (mcc.nic.in) the six-day first round counselling process for 15 per cent all India quota (AIQ) will be held from June 13 to June 18, 2018. The three-day second round counselling will be organised from July 6 to 8, 2018.
