Bhubaneswar: Along with the rest of the world, KIIT & KISS observed International Yoga Day with enthusiasm on Friday at the KIIT Stadium here.
Thousands of students, teachers and staff performed various basic Yoga postures during the hour-long session.
KIIT & KISS secretary RN Dash, KIIT-DU VC Prof Hrushikesha Mohanty, KIIT-DU Registrar Dr Sasmitarani Samanta, and KISS-DU VC Prof Harekrushna Satapathy graced the gathering and highlighted the essence of Yoga and elucidated how Yoga plays a significant role in everyday’s lives to make human beings physically, mentally and spiritually healthy.
Various yogaasanas (postures) and pranayamas (breathing exercises) were conducted by the students and members of the staff assembled at the stadium.
The Yoga Session was nicely orchestrated by Prof Biswabandita Kar of KIIT Deemed University along with her team. As many as 5,000 participants took part in the Yoga Day.
