Cuttack: The Special Task Force (STF) of the State Crime Branch busted a leopard skin smuggling racket in Deogarh district on Thursday evening. Three persons, including son of Prison Department official were arrested in this connection.
Acting on a tipoff, the STF personnel raided Barkote area in Deogarh districts and nabbed three persons – Sachikanta Nayak of Sundergarh and Ramanisen Behera and Jaynjaydutta Behera of Deogarh – while they were trying to sell leopard skin at Rs 8 lakh.
Seven-feet long leopard skin was seized from their possession, informed Crime Branch STF SP Rahul PR.
