Bhubaneswar: S Aswatha Narayana from Odisha has won gold medal in Water Technology at the WorldSkills International Competition 2019 that ended with a spectacular closing ceremony at Kazan on Tuesday attended by President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin.
The 25-year-old youth competed against 11 countries. He was also rewarded as ‘Best of Nation’ amongst the Indian competitors. His love for industrial automation pushed him to bag gold medal, and he hopes to not only replicate, but enhance his performance at Kazan.
The Indian Team has won 19 medals and Medallions of Excellence. The 48-member Indian team won one gold, one silver and two bronze medals besides 15 Medallions of Excellence at the competition.
The paucity of water on earth, and the urge to do something about preventing the critical source from depleting motivated Aswatha to take up water technology as his skill.
Aswatha has several achievements accredited to himself, including the Award of Excellence in Industrial Automation training, 1st in Automated Robotics event (State level) held at IIIT Bhubaneswar, 2nd in DrishTI – Online Contest in Circuit Design & Digital Signal Processing held by Texas Instruments.
