Bhubaneswar: A friendly cricket match was organised between Chairman XI and Principal XI at DAV Public School, Chandrasekharpur on Saturday where the Principal XI won the match by five wickets.
After winning the toss Chairman XI chose to bat and scored 115 runs by losing all the wickets before the stipulated 20 overs.
The Principal XI successfully chased it in 15.2 overs with five wickets remaining in hand.
Earlier, Chairman of the School Madan Mohan Panda and Principal Dr K C Satapathy inaugurated the match and advised to uphold sportsmanship to glorify the bond of fraternity.
Durga Das Mohapatra and Chandrabhanu were adjudged best bowler and best batsman, respectively. Like past years students, staff and parents of the school enjoyed the match in large numbers.
Among others, the headmistress, academic supervisors of the school were present and encouraged the players. The winning team and best players were awarded with cash prizes by the Chairman.
Dillip Jena and Suryamani Pradhan were the umpires and Satyendra Rath and D K Pati compeered it in all praiseworthy manner.
