Odisha orders closure of all high end saloons, beauty parlours & spa amid coronavirus scare

Bhubaneswar: Ramping up preventive measures to curb the spread of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) infection as one confirmed case emerged in the State capital, the Odisha Government on Thursday ordered closure of all high end saloons, beauty parlours and spa to remain closed until further orders.

“All high end saloons, beauty parlours, spa etc must stay closed until further orders as it is not possible to maintain social distancing – maintaining distance of more than one metre between service provider and customer in such premises, “ said the additional guidelines on Social Distancing issued by the State Government today.

The State Government has constituted Social Distancing Committee on COVID-19 Response headed by Additional Chief Secretary PK Mohapatra. All Government departments will send their recommendations to combat the virus.

The State Government has already directed closure of all schools and college till March 31 and advised people to avoid mass gatherings. Subsequently, many events were cancelled across the State in last few days.
