Odisha’s second COVID-19 patient discharged from hospital

Bhubaneswar: A 19-year-old man, who tested positive for COVID-19 on March 19, walked out of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) here on Wednesday. He was the second person to be tested positive for the novel Coronavirus in the State.

After the reports of the youth came negative, health authorities were confident about his full recovery and discharged him.

The youth had travel history to UK.

“The second #COVIDー19 positive case in #Odisha, belonging to Bhubaneswar has completely recovered & tested negative for #COVID19. He is being discharged,” tweeted the State Health and Family Welfare Department.

Odisha has so far reported four COVID-19 positive cases.

Odisha on March 15 reported its first positive case of Coronavirus where a 33-year-old with travel history to Italy tested positive for the virus. The second case was reported on March 19 while the third positive case was reported on March 26. This time a 60-year-old banker was tested positive. He had no travel foreign history.

The fourth patient was tested positive for the virus on March 31. He had returned from Dubai recently.
