Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government on Friday advised all private educational institutions in the State to be sympathetic to consider reduction or deferment of school fees for three months from April to June in view of the ongoing lockdown and the prevailing associated economic stress due to the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19).
The Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) in a tweet said the reduction or deferment of school fees will help the parents whose income has been adversely affected due to the lockdown.
“In view of the lockdown & associated economic stress for #COVID19, #Odisha Govt advises all private educational institutions to be sympathetic to consider reduction/deferment of school fees from April to June. This will help the parents whose income have been adversely affected,” tweeted the CMO.
Notably, the Odisha Government on Thursday announced extension of the ongoing lockdown till April 30 and closure of schools and other educational institutions till June 17.
The State has recorded 48 Coronavirus positive cases so far.
