NALCO signs tripartite pact for Covid-19 Hospital in Nabarangpur

Nabarangpur: The National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) has come forward to fund an exclusive 200-bed Covid-19 hospital at Nabarangpur in Odisha.

The Navratna CPSE signed the agreement with the Nabarangpur district administration and Health Department under which a Covid-19 exclusive isolation facility care centre has been made at BEd College at Hirli in Nabarangpur.

The Covid-19 Hospital in the tribal dominated district of Nabarangpur will also benefit other adjoining districts of southern Odisha – Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri and Kalahandi.

Earlier, NALCOnians had contributed two day’s salary – one day each to PM-CARES and CMRF to combat the Covid-19.

On Friday, the ninth Covid-19 hospital of the State was inaugurated at Ganjam by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik through video-conferencing. The Tata Steel Medica Super Speciality Hospital at Sitalapalli, on the outskirts of Berhampur, has been converted into the hospital.

Meanwhile, Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said that the upcoming 200-bed Covid-19 hospital funded by NALCO at Nabarangpur will further strengthen Odisha’s capabilities in defeating the pandemic.
