Bhubaneswar: The number of coronavirus cases in Odisha crossed 70,000 while the death toll due to the pandemic reached 380 on Thursday.
Odisha reported 2,898 new cases and 8 deaths in the last 24 hours. The tally of cases in the State rose to 70,020 and death toll reached 380, it added.
Of the 2,898 new cases reported today, Khurda topped the list of affected persons with 524 cases followed by Cuttack (241), Nayagarh (232), Ganjam (226), Bolangir (173), Balasore (140), Koraput (132), Bhadrak (107), Rayagada (105), Puri (104), Sundergarh (101), Jagatsinghpur (84), Sambalpur (77), Kalahandi (76), Jajpur (69), Kandhamal (63), Kendrapara (57), Malkangiri (56), Gajapati and Mayurbhanj (53) each, Jharsuguda (49), Dhenkanal (44), Nabarangpur (37), Keonjhar (35), Sonepur (23), Angul (16), Bargarh (9), Nuapada (8), Deogarh (30) and Boudh (1), respectively.
With 1641 Covid-19 patients discharged from hospitals after recovery on Wednesday, the number of recovered patients increased to 46,935. The State has now 22,651 active cases.
